Principal's Message

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! We are eagerly looking forward to making your high school experience a memorable one. We are continually expanding our vast array of opportunities and activities in order to bring Bear Nation together and foster a true sense of community. Our goal is for you to experience a culture that we can all be proud of  at Selma High School and one that is built together.

Ensuring the safety of all students and staff is our top priority along with the goal of raising academic achievement for all students. We have a number of highly accomplished educators and support staff to assist students every step of the way. Additionally, we offer a variety of Career Technical Pathways including our new Careers with Children Pathway. CTE programs add immense value to our vast academic programs that include Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment Academic Courses (both with Reedley College and Fresno State). Currently, we offer 35 different CTE Courses that have dual enrollment at Reedley College for our students via our partnership with Valley ROP.

In addition to our focus on academic excellence, SHS also takes great pride in our impressive reputation when it comes to extra-curricular and co-curricular programs providing opportunities to showcase students outside of the classroom. Our teaching staff, classified support staff, and administration are dedicated professionals who work diligently each day to ensure that all of our students receive a high quality, rigorous, and relevant education enabling each student to be college and career ready prior to graduation. Please encourage your child to be involved in the activities we provide as it will help your students to develop school spirit while creating positive and lasting relationships. The more connected our students are to Bear Nation, the more their academic achievement will increase.

SHS will continue to be an environment where students can prosper and teachers can continue to meet the diverse needs of all students.
